No Decepticon has a stronger loyalty to Megatron than Ravage. One of Soundwave's most reliable spies, Ravage believes unwaveringly in the Decepticon cause, and Megatron embodies that cause. To better serve Megatron and the Decepticons, Ravage has become the most efficient and deadly war machine under his command. He hides himself in the shadows, waiting for the perfect moment to strike with grim accuracy. His name is synonymous with stealth. His survivors are few.

Ravage's only weakness is bright light, which can temporarily blind him. Perhaps his absolute loyalty to Megatron can blind him as well.

Sometimes he's a talker, other times he just growls or hisses at anything that isn't Megatron or Soundwave.

At various times, Ravage has been referred to as Tripredacus Agent, Tri-Predacus Agent, or Black Panther Man (クロヒョウマン Kurohyō Man).

Ravage is a Cybertronian in the main core Transformer Universe. He is one of the few Decepticons to survive the Great War and be granted amnesty. He was upgraded and rebuilt into a Predacon. At some point he began working for the Tripredacus Council as a undercover agent. Strangely he transforms into Cassette and a Black Panther.

Ravage entered the Beast Wars after the Tripredacus Council detected a transwarp explosion originating from prehistoric Earth. Not wanting the Maximals to be altered to activities of Megatron, considered an outlaw by the council, they sent Ravage to append him.

Ravage had three toys released during the Beast Wars line, two of which were only available in Japan. Shadow Panther, a black repaint of Cheetor, was originally released as a original character, his beast mode is a Black Panther. After Ravage appeared in the Beast Wars TV Show, Shadow Panther was retconned into being Ravage. Jaguar X-9 was a heavy retool of TransMetal Cheetor, fitting as the CGI model used in the show was also a heavily modified version of TransMetal Cheetor as well. Tripredacus Agent (Hasbro had lost the trademark to "Ravage" at the time) was a Wal-Mart exclusive and the only version of the character available outside of Japan. He too was a repaint of a Cheetor, in this case TransMetal 2 Cheetor.
